1. Who we are

rebattle (rebattle.net) is run from Sweden ("we", "us"). You can contact us at hello@rebattle.net.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By paying for a post or response, or by creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Refund Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use rebattle. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.

3. What you're paying for

rebattle is a discussion board where every post and response costs money to publish. You pay to have your content published. Nothing else is included.

• Prices. Whoever starts a post sets its price, subject to our minimum. On an "Up the ante" post, the price goes up by the step-up amount after each response. The price shown when you pay is the price you're charged, including any applicable VAT.
• Not gambling or investment. Fees aren't stakes in a game of chance. You can't win, earn or withdraw money. Votes, rankings and "on top" positions have no cash value.
• Redemption. Where a post uses Redemption, backing the winning answer gets you a refund of your own fee when the post closes. Only your own fee is refunded, and never more than you paid.
• Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

4. Right of withdrawal

EU consumer law normally gives you 14 days to cancel online purchases. Your post or response is published the moment your payment goes through. So before you pay, we ask you to request immediate publication and to confirm that you know you'll lose the right to cancel once it's published. We record that you've done this. After publication, refunds are only available as described in the Refund Policy. This doesn't affect your statutory rights if something we provide is faulty.

5. Your content

• You're responsible for what you post. You keep ownership of it. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish it on rebattle and in share images and previews of it.
• Posts are shown without names. Other people will see and respond to what you write, and it may be shared outside rebattle.
• Paid content can't be edited or deleted by you once it's published. That's part of what makes a take count. If you need something removed for a legal reason, email us.

6. What's not allowed

You must not post anything that:

• is illegal, including hate speech, threats, incitement or defamation;
• harasses, targets or reveals personal information about a private individual;
• is sexual content involving minors, or any sexual content at all;
• infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
• is spam, advertising, scams or links to malware;
• impersonates someone else.

We may remove content that breaks these rules, or that we're legally required to remove, without a refund. We may also block anyone who repeatedly breaks them. If we remove your content by mistake, we'll refund you (see the Refund Policy). To report content, email hello@rebattle.net with a link to the post and the reason.

7. Accounts

You don't need an account to take part. If you create one, keep your password safe. You're responsible for anything done with your account. Email us if you'd like your account deleted.

8. Privacy

We keep what's needed to run the site:

• your posts and responses;
• payment records (amount, date, status and Stripe's reference), which we keep for as long as accounting law requires;
• if you sign up, your email address and a securely hashed password.

Stripe handles card data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We use a single cookie to keep you signed in, and no advertising or tracking cookies. You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data by emailing us. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

9. Availability and liability

We try to keep rebattle running, but it's provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable. Views posted on rebattle belong to their authors, not to us. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and each payment records the version you agreed to. Changes don't apply to payments you've already made.

11. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. If something goes wrong, please email us first; we'll try to sort it out quickly. As a consumer, you can also take a dispute to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se), and we'll take part in its process. Otherwise, disputes go to the Swedish general courts. This doesn't take away any mandatory consumer rights you have in your own country.
